    Maybe the anecdotes you relate and the anecdotes of the post you link to early in the post simply illustrate one thing. That traditional (if there is such a thing) and progressive (if there is such a thing) can both provide children and young adults with education. It is about knowing what to use when that makes a teacher successful.

    The trads who see progs as to root of all educational evil, and the progs who see trads as insensitive automontons simply illustrate their blinkered approach and limited professional scope.

      I don’t agree on that. In the end, what good does avoiding tackling poor behaviour actually lead to? I wouldn’t want to be in her position, looking back justifying my poor behaviour. That’s me.
